WW2 World War TwoSemyon Nomokonov (1900, Trans-Baikal Region - 1973, Chita Region) - Soviet sniper.
During the Great Patriotic War, he destroyed 360 German soldiers and officers, including one major general. During the Soviet-Japanese War, he destroyed 8 soldiers and officers of the Kwantung Army. The total confirmed count is 368 enemy soldiers and officers.

Nomokonov hit the enemy from

He fought in the Valdai Heights, the Karelian Isthmus, Ukraine, Lithuania, East Prussia, and then during the Soviet-Japanese war - in Manchuria. He served in 5 fronts, 2 divisions, 6 regiments.
The number of killed enemy soldiers and officers he marked on smoking pipe, burning dots (soldiers) and crosses (officer).
The Germans gave him the nickname "
Taiga Shaman
". He was wounded eight times, suffered two concussions.
Nomokonov was repeatedly mentioned in the reports of the Sovinformburo, front-line and central newspapers reported about him.
After the war, he worked at a state farm in Buryatia. He was a popular man. Articles about his exploits were published in newspapers and even in books.
In ordinary life, Semyon was a very kind, hardworking person. Was married. He had 9 children and 30 grandchildren.
