Description
Antique dental school typodont (practice teeth) by Lee S Smith & Son, Pittsburgh. This is an old articulated typodont, which has been used in dental schools until present day, for dental students to practice preparing (drilling) and fabricating dental restorations. This one was used for making a lower (mandibular) jaw bridge. It is half of the human jaw with a hinged articulating "joint". I'm guessing from the 20's or 30's. Teeth and jaw are made of some type of celluloid to mimic the nature of teeth so a student could practice cutting teeth with a drill without a live patient. Teeth are accurate life size. Please see photos for condition. Free S/H within continental USA. Thanks for looking !
